The new extremely flexible pyrolyzer EGA/PY-3030D from Frontier Lab is based on
the proven technique of vertical micro furnace, as its successful parent PY-2020iD/iS.
The new model PY-3030D is equipped with a low ceramic heater featuring improved
thermal stability and a new extended temperature range of 40 – 1050 °C. Now also
very temperature stable polymer compounds can be cracked. The re-designed needle
interface ensures thermal uniformity and easier maintenance. The special design
of the furnace, the optimized temperature control of all critical parts of the system
and the inertness of the flow path guarantee an outstanding reproducibility.
Due to the change to a low mass ceramic heater the pyrolyzer heats and cools very
quickly. So the cycle time of the furnace could be sped up to about 3 times faster
and more samples than ever can be handled. Productivity can be increased even further
using the AS-1020E autosampler with its sample carousel accommodating up to 48 sample
cups.
Different samplers are available extending the application range of the pyrolyzer.
Only by changing the sampler the user can choose between Single-Shot/Double-Shot
Pyrolysis (Thermal Desorption and Pyrolysis), liquid Injection, (High Pressure)
Reactive Pyrolysis and UV irradiation and subsequent measurement of volatiles released
from the sample or pyrolysis of the irradiated sample.
For interpretation of the pyrograms Frontier Lab provides the recently upgraded
F-Search Software package (Ver.3.1) with special Libraries like EGA & Pyrogram libraries
as well as an Additive and a Pyrolyzate library, to make identification and characterization
of unknown polymeric material easier and more convenient.
The Single-Shot model PY-3030S for classical flash pyrolysis (isothermal pyrolysis)
offers the ideal access for newcomers in Pyrolysis GCMS with an attractive price/performance
ratio.
